Adam Eargle, CBS Sports Design The Milwaukee Brewers are headed to Florida with a 2-0 World Series lead after pulling off a comeback win in Game 2 over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays took a 4-0 lead in the first inning off rookie Logan Henderson, but the Brewers scored five unanswered runs and the bullpen held the lead for a 5-4 win.
Teams up 2-0 in a best-of-seven series have won the series 83% of the time in MLB history.
The Rays secured the American League pennant by beating the Cleveland Guardians in ALCS Game 6 behind a massive home run by Junior Caminero. This marks their first World Series appearance since 2020, and only their third in franchise history (they lost to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008). The Brewers, meanwhile, swept the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the National League pennant and make their first World Series since 1982.
Neither franchise has ever won a title, meaning we'll get a first-time champion regardless of the outcome.
