Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

BuzzLine News is built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and what your choices are.

What we collect

When you visit the Site, our web server automatically logs:

  • Your IP address (truncated and anonymized after 30 days)
  • The page you requested and the time of the request
  • Your browser type and operating system (User-Agent string)
  • The referring page, if any (Referer header)

This information is used solely for security (detecting abuse), debugging (diagnosing errors), and aggregate analytics (understanding which sections are popular). It is never sold and never shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

What we don't collect

  • We do not require user accounts or registration to read articles.
  • We do not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers unless you voluntarily contact us.
  • We do not use third-party tracking pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Analytics, no LinkedIn Insight Tag).
  • We do not build behavioral profiles to personalize content or ads.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data with anyone, ever.

Cookies

The Site uses minimal cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list and how to control them.

Images and content

To protect your privacy, we cache article images on our own servers rather than hot-linking from publishers. This prevents publishers from tracking which BuzzLine readers have viewed which articles.

Email

If you email us at any of our published addresses, we keep your message and reply for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. We do not add you to a mailing list without your explicit opt-in.

Partner placements

Sponsor placements (marked "PARTNER") on the Site are first-party content served from our own servers. They do not include third-party scripts, tracking pixels, or remarketing tags. Clicking a partner placement opens the partner's website in a new tab; what happens there is governed by the partner's own privacy policy.

Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (EEA, UK, California, and elsewhere), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we collect very little, requests are typically simple. Email privacy@buzzline.news with the request and a way to verify your identity.

Data retention

Server logs are retained for 90 days, then deleted. Email correspondence is retained for up to 24 months. Anonymized aggregate analytics may be retained indefinitely.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least seven days.
